Anhui Provincial Party Secretary Liang Yanshun and Provincial Governor Wang Qingxian Met with Chairman Magariños
On the afternoon of September 19th, Liang Yanshun, Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, and Wang Qingxian, Governor of Anhui Province, met with Carlos Magariños, Former UNIDO Director-General and Chairman of GASME and his delegation in Hefei.
On behalf of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, Secretary Liang warmly welcomed Chairman Magariños and his delegation to attend the convention in Anhui. He said that the World Manufacturing Convention had been successfully held for six sessions, making positive contributions to showcasing world manufacturing achievements and strengthening global exchanges and cooperation. He hopes that GASME will continue to leverage its advantages, actively act as a bridge, drive more internationally renowned enterprises to enter Anhui, help more high-quality Anhui enterprises go global, and work together to create a new situation of mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.
Chairman Magariños expressed his gratitude to Secretary Liang and Governor Wang for their warm reception, and expressed his great pleasure of being invited again to attend this year’s World Manufacturing Convention. Coming back to Anhui after six years’ time, he felt very delighted to see that Anhui has accurately grasped the new development trend of the world’s manufacturing industry and that the speed of the development of Anhui’s manufacturing industry is truly remarkable, especially when Anhui’s new energy automobile industry is developing at a high speed, and the formation of industrial clusters with international competitiveness is accelerating. This proves not only that Hefei is an ideal host for the World Manufacturing Convention, but also that it is of great significance to hold the convention.
Regarding the convening of the seventh World Manufacturing Convention, Chairman Magariños pointed out that currently, the world has entered the era of the fourth industrial revolution. It needs an authoritative platform to showcase the achievements of the development of manufacturing industry and promote high-end resource matchmaking and cooperation to jointly facilitate the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. The 2024 World Manufacturing Convention is precisely such an ideal platform. Faced with multiple challenges on the current world stage, we should jointly promote re-globalization and help achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Chairman Magariños also believes that the World Manufacturing Convention should go global, further enhance its international influence, and gather more high-quality global resources.
