World Manufacturing Convention 2023 Held in Hefei
From September 20th to 24th, the World Manufacturing Convention 2023 was grandly held in Hefei.
Themed Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better Future, the convention is committed to creating iconic, leading, and high-level open cooperation platforms and manufacturing events with international influence, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Development Research Center of the State Council, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Global Alliance of SMEs and the People's Government of Anhui Province.
The conference is divided into an opening ceremony and keynote forums, with 60 important events including the "600" project docking between central enterprises, private enterprises, foreign enterprises, Hong Kong and Macao enterprises, Taiwanese enterprises, and overseas Chinese enterprises, as well as the 2023 China Top 500 Enterprise Summit Forum.
Wang Yong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC, Christian Wulff, 10th President of Germany and Global Chairman of GASME, Han Jun, Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee, Xin Guobin, Member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Lin Ruiliang, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, and Zhang Xiaolun, Chairman of China Machinery Industry Group Co., Ltd., attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Wang Hongzhi, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Cheng Hong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Federation of Overseas Chinese and the Central Committee of the Democratic League of China, An Lijia, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese government on the Middle East issue, and Tang Liangzhi, Chairman of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference attended. Chairman and CEO of Volkswagen Group (China), Ralf Brandstaetter, and Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd., Wang Chuanfu, delivered video speeches. Wang Qingxian, Deputy Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Governor hosted the opening ceremony.
Wang Yong pointed out in his speech that the World Manufacturing Convention, as an important window and platform for promoting the development achievements of advanced manufacturing and promoting international cooperation in the manufacturing industry, has injected new momentum into the high-quality development of the global manufacturing industry. At present and in the future, China will accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system supported by the real economy, deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy, focus on achieving the transformation from "Made in China" to "Created in China", better meet the people's living needs with high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, firmly promote high-level opening up to the outside world to jointly promote the prosperity and development of the global manufacturing industry.
Chairman Wulff stated in his speech that hosting the 2023 World Manufacturing Convention provides a platform for the world economy to seek trade and investment cooperation on the basis of multilateralism, bringing new hope to the world economy. As two major manufacturing countries in the world, China and Germany have achieved common development in the field of manufacturing through continuous deepening of practical cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations 51 years ago. Anhui Province has extensive cooperation and exchanges with Germany. As early as 1984, Anhui Province established a friendly provincial-state relationship with Lower Saxony in Germany. At present, Germany has invested more than 150 enterprises in Anhui, with Volkswagen, Continental, Bosch, Siemens and others investing or cooperating in Anhui Province. The cooperation between JAC and Volkswagen has become a model of win-win cooperation between both parties. The World Manufacturing Convention has been successfully held for five consecutive sessions, and this year is the sixth. As one of the organizers, GASME highly appreciates and actively supports this. As the former president of Germany and the global chairman of GASME, Chairman Wulff sincerely hopes that the manufacturing industries of China, Germany, and other countries around the world can seize the opportunity of the World Manufacturing Convention, jointly take the opportunity of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, promote the high-quality development of global manufacturing, and inject new impetus into the world economy.
At the opening ceremony, the "2023 Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises" list and Anhui's leading new technologies and products in the manufacturing industry at home and abroad were launched. In addition, a major project signing ceremony was held.
This convention has a higher level of internationalization, inviting over 1,200 guests from the global manufacturing industry, including foreign politicians, envoys to China, heads of international organizations, as well as over 300 foreign representatives from over 60 Fortune 500 companies and multinational corporations such as Volkswagen, Siemens, Continental, Air Liquide, and Corning; The "Entering Europe" series of activities was first launched, promoting conferences and attracting projects in countries such as Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and inviting countries such as France, South Korea, and Israel to participate in the exhibition. The conference also has a higher level of richness in event settings - according to the "1+6+11+21+21" setting, which includes one opening ceremony and theme forum, six "600" project docking activities, 11 special events, 21 forum activities, and 21 activities carried out by various cities, with the highest level of activity richness in history.
The conference has set up a main exhibition hall of 20,000 square meters and a market-oriented exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, with the highest number of exhibitors and exhibition area in history. The latest representative achievements in the global manufacturing industry, such as quantum computers, power rockets, 600 km/h maglev trains, and 80000-ton forging presses, were unveiled at the conference. A group of new technologies and products such as independent heavy-duty gas turbine blades and quantum spin magnetometers made their debut at the conference.
The World Manufacturing Convention is known as the "clearest and most direct window to grasp the direction of world manufacturing", and is also an important opportunity and platform to showcase China's "advantageous industries". This conference fully reflects the new global manufacturing trends that are high-end, intelligent, green, and service-oriented, showcasing new technologies, products, and achievements in the fields of new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and new energy. The conference facilitated 587 signed cooperation projects with a total investment of nearly 350 billion yuan.
