Global Advanced Ceramics and High Tech Industry Development Conference Held in Jingdezhen

The 2022 Global Advanced Ceramics and High-tech Industry Development Conference was successfully held in Jingdezhen on November 10th. The conference was hosted by Jiangxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Jingdezhen Municipal People's Government and Global Alliance of SMEs.

Jingdezhen is world-renowned porcelain capital with a history of over one thousand years. In May 2019, during his visit to Jiangxi Province, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the important instruction of "building a national pilot zone for ceramic culture inheritance and innovation in Jingdezhen and creating a new platform for cultural exchange". In July 2019, the State Council officially approved the Implementation Plan of Jingdezhen National Pilot Zone for Ceramic Culture Inheritance and Innovation. The 20th Party Congress held recently set up the theme of promoting high-quality development. The Jingdezhen Municipal Government promptly host this congress, gathering heads of the Fortune 500 enterprises and leading enterprises, as well as experts and scholars in advanced ceramics and high-tech industries. They had an in-depth discussion on the cutting-edge trends of the global advanced ceramics industry and high-tech industry development, and made precise matches for investing in Jingdezhen to build a global high-tech industry pilot zone.

Christian Wulff, Global Chairman of Global Alliance of SMEs, former President of Germany and winner of the 2022 Chinese Government Friendship Award, and Yukio Hatoyama, Global Advisor of Global Alliance of SMEs and former Prime Minister of Japan, sent their warm congratulations via videos.

Government officials including Chen Xingchao, Vice Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Liu Feng, Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee of Jingdezhen, Hu Xuemei, Mayor of Jingdezhen, Li Qinghong, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Chen Jinqiao, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Jiang Shaolong, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Li Yuqiang, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Office of Foreign Affairs, and heads of international organizations and business associations including He Weiwen, Vice Chairman of Global Alliance of SMEs, Zheng Yi, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Ma Bin, Executive Vice President of the China Association of SMEs, Cao Fang, Secretary-General of Global Alliance of SMEs, Tian Xiaohong, Deputy Secretary-General of Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, Wang Qing, President of the Sino-Japanese Industrial Investment Promotion Association, Lang Xiaolei, Vice President of the China Foreign Trade Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Du Hai, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Committee of the German Association of SMEs, Zhu Xiaofeng, Secretary-General of the China Advanced Ceramics Industry Alliance presented at the conference. Executives from nearly ten Fortune 500 enterprises including Corning International Group, Air Liquide, IBM, Asahi Kasei, Saint-Gobain, Airbus, and Dassault System, heads from more than 60 advanced ceramic enterprises including Konfoong Materials International Co., Ltd., Shandong Guiyuan Advanced Ceramics Co., Ltd., as well as senior executives from Jiangsu Laohuyun Co., Ltd., Mibei Technology Innovation Co., Ltd., ZTE and other high-tech enterprises attended the conference, totaling over 160 guests.

Liu Feng, Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee of Jingdezhen, pointed out in his speech that Jingdezhen is one of the earliest industrial cities in the world, and innovation is the excellent gene inherent in Jingdezhen. Jingdezhen's thousand-year history of ceramics is a history of innovation and development. In recent years, Jingdezhen vigorously implement a ceramic priority development strategy, with advanced ceramics as the main direction of industrial development. Under the principle of "a pole to lead, two bonds to support, three points of dislocation", the spatial layout of the advanced ceramic industry focuses on advanced ceramic industry development directions including communications electronics, new energy+aerospace, biomedicine, environmental protection, and military "2+4". Jingdezhen has established the government guide fund of 1 billion yuan and the advanced ceramic industry development fund of 6.5 billion yuan, fostered the construction of 1.7 million square meters of advanced ceramics standardized plant, and 27 large institutions to jointly build an advanced ceramic innovation research institute cluster, and strive to build a national advanced ceramic industry development model zone, striving to reach 50 billion yuan of advanced ceramic industry scale in 2025, and recreate a Jingdezhen ceramic industry.

Jiang Shaolong, deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, introduced in his speech that the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and the provincial government are firmly implementing the strategy of developing the province through industry, vigorously promoting the "2+6+N" industry with high-quality and leapfrog development, focusing on new materials, new energy and other leading industries, and making efforts to promote the industry to become bigger, stronger and better. Jingdezhen will seize the opportunity brought by the strategy of building a national pilot zone for ceramic culture inheritance and innovation, taking the initiative to multiply industry output in three years. In the first three quarters of this year, Jingdezhen’s above-scale industrial value-added, industrial investment and other major economic indicators growth rate ranks among the top in Jiangxi Province. The initial cultivation of a relevantly integrated advanced ceramic industry chain has been completed. The output value of the first three quarters of 2022 reached 48 billion yuan.

He Weiwen, Vice Chairman of Global Alliance of SMEs, Foreign Affairs Specialist of the State Council Information Office, former Economic and Business Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, elaborated on the strengths and weaknesses in China's economic development today through data. If China wants to achieve modernization by 2035, it must ensure that its real GDP grows at an average annual rate of 4.73%. This means the total volume needs to increase by the volume equals to that of the current US, which is a very difficult task. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to promote a high level of opening up. Relying on the enormous market, China will attract global resources through a large domestic circulation, deeply participate in the global industrial division of labor and cooperation, insist on putting the focus of economic development on the real economy, promote a new type of industrialization, and accelerate the building of a high-quality country with strong manufacturing, aerospace, transportation, network and digital capacity. He pointed out that ancient Jingdezhen was a model for China's economic and cultural development, while Jingdezhen today will once again be a model for China's high-quality economic development.

China Association of SMEs and Jingdezhen Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Enterprises including Jiangsu Fangyuan Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Youchuang Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd, Ningbo Kingdun Electronic Industry Co., Ltd, Jiangxi Weikesaifu Co., Ltd., Jianghe Heshengbaiwei Tech Co., Ltd., Jiangxi BAIC Group Hainachuan Xinghui Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Sainon Chemical Co. Ltd., Chongqing Wudun Nanotechnology Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Naian New Material Tech Co., Ltd., Jingdezao Ceramics Co., Ltd., Bangci Technology (Yancheng) Co., Ltd., Jingdezhen Xinsheng Advanced Ceramic Materials Co., Jingdezhen State Owned Assets Operation and Investment Holding Group Control Group Co., Ltd. signed investment cooperation agreements with relevant government sectors in Jingdezhen, with a total of 23 projects and 39.302 billion yuan investment.

The success of this conference will accelerate the formation of a high-quality leapfrog development trend in Jingdezhen, advancing the rapid progress in ceramics and high-tech industries, so that Jingdezhen will become not only the capital of ceramic culture and art, but also the capital of the ceramic industry, talent and innovation.
