GASME Secretary-General Led a Delegation to 2016 Silk Road Economic Belt Cities International Forum
On November 13th and 14th, 2016, Mr. Frank Cao, Secretary-General of GASME, led a GASME delegation to attend the 2016 Silk Road Economic Belt Cities International Forum held at the Yourworld International Conference Centre in Yiwu, China.
This forum was held by the Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA), Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China, and Yiwu Municipal Government. The theme of the forum was Promoting Connectivity and Sharing Trade Property.
Distinguished guests to this forum included: Mr. Kevin Rudd, Former Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Benjamin William Mkapa, Former President of Tanzania, Mr. Djoomart Otorbaev, Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Grzegorz W. Kolodko, Former Deputy Premier and Finance Minister of Poland, Mr. Bruno Maçães, Former Minister for Europe in the Portuguese Government, Mr. Dou Enyong, Assistant Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Mr. Gao Xingfu, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Mr. He Weiwen, Vice Chairman of GASME, and Mr. Sheng Qiuping, Secretary of Party Committee of Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. More than 400 political officers, business leaders and academic experts and scholars from over 30 countries gathered here to discuss on the cooperation and development of the pivot cities in international trade along the “Belt and Road”.
During the forum, Secretary-General Frank Cao met with Mr. Rudd, Former Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Mkapa, Former President of Tanzania, Mr. Otorbaev, Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, and Mr. Kolodko, Former Deputy Premier and Finance Minister of Poland. Mr. Frank Cao introduced the status-quo of GASME, its coming events, and the Second 5-Year Plan of GASME to be implemented to the four national leaders, and received their high acknowledgement on GASME’s great achievements.
