Taoshijian White Tea——The official tea for 2010 Global SME Expo

Taoshijian Tea Plantation is a nationally designated ecological demonstration site located in Pan’an of Zhejiang Province with an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. It was also named a “UN White Tea Production Base” by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in 2005.

Soaked in moist clouds year-round and with an average temperature of 10-20℃, the area is uniquely bestowed with a pristine environment and an optimal climate for the white tea tree to grow.

With a millennium of history, the white tea, named after the white color of its spring shoots, has always enjoyed a noble status due to its rarity coupled with the difficulty involved in its processing.

Nowadays, aside from its exquisite look, aroma and taste, the white tea is also highly prized for its health benefits thanks to its relatively high theanine content. Theanine has been routinely cited in various scientific literatures as having positive effects on the brain as well as the immune system.

Given its prominence among all white tea varieties, Taoshijian White Tea has been selected by the Global Alliance of SMEs as the official tea for 2010 Global SME Expo.
