UNIDO & GASME Signed Letter of Intent

Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) met Mr. Carlos Magariños, Honorary Global Chairman of GASME in UNIDO headquarter of Vienna on the morning of June 26 and signed Letter of Intent.

On June 25, one day before the signing of letter of intent, “China SME Global Development Forum” was held in UNIDO headquarter organized by UNIDO and GASME. Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Mr. Carlos Magariños, Honorary Global Chairman of GASME attended the forum and made keynote speeches. Over 200 Chinese and EU entrepreneurs listened to their speeches.

UNIDO and GASME will set up a “Preparatory Committee” to integrate global resources and forge a global communication platform for SMEs, so as to promote rapid and healthy development of SMEs from the whole world and specially those from developing countries.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Its mandate is to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition, and work towards improving living conditions in the world's poorest countries by drawing on its combined global resources and expertise.
