“Zhejiang Enterprises Going Global” Zhejiang Enterprises Economic and Trade Conference for Entering South America Held in Jiashan

On November 16th, “Zhejiang Enterprises Going Global” Zhejiang Enterprises Economic and Trade Conference for Entering South America was held in Jiashan.

This conference is jointly hosted by the Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME) and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, aiming to deepen South South cooperation and assist Zhejiang enterprises in exploring emerging markets in South America. More than 100 people attended the conference, including Carlos Magariños, the Third Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Chairman of GASME, Chen Jianzhong, Chairman of CCOIC Zhejiang and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Zhejiang Council, Frank Cao, Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of GASME, Lou Xianghui, Executive Deputy County Mayor of Jiashan County, Juan Francisco Beroch, Secretary General, Overseas Commission(China), Cámara Argentino China, and representatives of Zhejiang enterprises who are members of the CCOIC Zhejiang and interested in exploring the South American market.

Chairman Chen Jianzhong pointed out in his address that based on the highly complementary nature of resource endowments and industrial needs, the cooperation between Zhejiang and South America has made great progress in the macro context of China and Latin America’s joint construction of the “the Belt and Road” and South South cooperation. In the future, we will deepen the “Zhejiang Enterprises Going Global” trade and investment service action, further expanding and consolidating the economic and trade cooperation bridge between the two sides.

County Mayor Lou Xianghui mentioned in his talk that Jiashan, as the only county-level high-quality development demonstration site and ecological green integrated development demonstration zone in the Yangtze River Delta, has convenient transportation and strong industrial foundation. In recent years, Jiashan has established trade relations with 191 countries and regions, with more than 50 key enterprises exploring the South American market. Jiashan will further assist enterprises in deepening economic and trade exchanges with South American countries.

Chairman Magariños delved into the potential of the South American market in his keynote speech with the topic of “Potential Business Opportunities in the South American Market and Cooperation Strategies for Chinese Enterprises”. He believes that the South American region has a large population base and abundant resource endowments, and is currently in a critical period of infrastructure upgrading and industrial transformation. He suggests that Zhejiang enterprises grasp the trend, focus on localized operations and compliance management, and achieve long-term stable development.

Secretary General Frank Cao stated that the industries in South America and Zhejiang are highly complementary, and this exchange meeting has provided an efficient platform for Zhejiang enterprises to communicate. As an international organization with dual consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and UNIDO, GASME will continue to empower Zhejiang enterprises, promote normalized exchanges between Zhejiang and South American enterprises, and facilitate mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Secretary General Juan Francisco Beroch introduced the enormous potential of China Argentina trade and Argentina’s superior business environment. He pointed out that there is broad room for cooperation between China and Argentina in fields such as energy, agriculture, mining, and knowledge-based services. The government has relaxed foreign trade regulations, simplified import processes, and introduced large-scale investment incentive policies. The Argentina Chamber of Commerce has always been committed to building a bridge of economic and trade cooperation, promoting cooperation between Zhejiang and Argentine enterprises, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.

In the speech session of the enterprise representatives, Shan Min, COO of Shenzhen Zhongzheng Go Global Technology Co., Ltd., shared their practical experience and shared the path and methods of exploring the South American market and international trade promotion strategies for the enterprises present, providing practical reference for the enterprises present.

During the Roundtable Discussion, Wang Lei, Vice President of Shengwei International Group, and Li Peng, Founder of Latin America Cross-Border E-Commerce Committee, Guangdong Association of Trade in Services, exchanged ideas with Chairman Magariños and Secretary General Beroch on how to reduce the localization operation costs and risks of manufacturing enterprises in South America, and how cross-border e-commerce can break through logistics and payment barriers in South America, providing a path for enterprises to safely go global and avoid risks.

During the conference, Chairman Chen Jianzhong met with Chairman Magariños and his delegation. Both sides focused on the prospects of economic and trade cooperation between Zhejiang and South American countries, and had exchanges and discussions on how to promote high-quality development of South South cooperation.
