Chairman Magariños Attended the 2025 Global Family Business Cooperation and Development Conference

On November 14th, the 2025 Global Family Business Cooperation and Development Conference was held at the St. Regis Jing’an Hotel in Shanghai.

The conference, with the theme of “Intelligent Manufacturing Leadership, Cross-border Synergy”, is jointly organized by HICG and WinFo Global Family Office Cooperation Development Alliance, supported by organizations such as the Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME), the Hemingway Family Office of the United States, and the Confucius Culture Inheritance Working Committee of the Chinese Society. The conference brings together elites and leaders from the global family business community to explore new paths for international exchange of family businesses, work together to enhance international competitiveness, and actively respond to global challenges.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Carlos Magariños, Global Chairman of GASME and former Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); Jin Xu, Chairman of the China Association of International Trade; He Weiwen, Expert from the State Council Information Office and Former Commercial and Economic Counselor at the Chinese Consulate in New York; Frank Cao, Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of GASME; Wang Zhenghua, Chairman of Spring Group; Jake Hemingway, Executive President of the American Hemingway Family Foundation; Chen Feng, Executive Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Hou Bin, three-time Paralympic Champion and Main Torchbearer at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony.

Chairman Magariños delivered a speech titled “Addressing Global Challenges and Promoting the Sustainable Development of Family Enterprises”, offering valuable insights for family businesses to achieve sustainable development amid global challenges. Chairman Jin Xu provided an in-depth analysis of development strategies for family enterprises within the complex international environment, focusing on global trade patterns and industrial supply chains. Chairman He Weiwen, Mr. Wang Zhenghua, Mr. Jake Hemingway, Mr. Chen Feng, and others also delivered insightful speeches on topics such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy, the inheritance and development of family businesses, internationalization strategies for family enterprises, and Hong Kong’s role as a super-connector, sparking widespread resonance and profound reflection among the attendees.

Secretary-General Frank Cao delivered a speech at the dinner banquet stating that Family businesses are a vital component of the global economy and have made significant contributions to its prosperity. To support the sustainable development of family enterprises, HICG has specifically established the International Reception Hall Charitable Foundation in Hong Kong. This foundation has two primary missions: first, to provide the most forward-looking and systematic training for the governance of family businesses; and second, to design optimal strategies for the global expansion of family enterprises and ensure their successful implementation.

During the banquet, the HICG International Reception Hall Charitable Foundation Appointment Ceremony was also held. Chairman Magariños personally presented awards such as the Charity Ambassador honor to several distinguished guests in recognition of their outstanding contributions to philanthropic endeavors.
