Release of “White Paper on Global SMEs Development 2013” in Shanghai

On November 20^th, 2013, Dr. George Wang, Executive Chairman of GASME, announced the “White Paper on Global SMEs Development 2013” at the Summit of International Business Leaders Shanghai, on behalf of GASME. The summit was co-organized by the Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME), Shanghai Entrepreneur Association (SEA), China Business Network (CBN) and Overseas Education College Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and held at the Shanghai International Convention Center.

The SMEs, accounting for over 98% of the enterprises around the world, play an important role in economic and social development, and make great contributions to the global economic growth. SMEs are thus regarded as the major force in promoting worldwide prosperity and social harmony. With the integration of the world economy, SMEs are facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. The White Paper was prepared by SME Research Center of HSBC School of Business at Peking University. The theme – SME and its status and roles in the global economic growth in the 21st century - was discussed by government policy makers, SMEs researchers, business leaders, and international organizations, to promote the further cooperation and development among global SMEs.
