2006 US-China Entrepreneurs Summit
2006 US-China Entrepreneur Summit, jointly organized by US-China Exchange Association (USCEA), City University of New York, US Department of Commerce, US National Association of Export Companies and other US organizations, was held in New York City on December 13, 2006. This is the 3rd time for USCEA to hold the US-China Entrepreneur Summit after the ones successfully held in Beijing and NYC in 2005.

2006 US-China Entrepreneur Summit consists of two sessions: US-China Business Round Table and US-China Business Building Conference. The Round Table was held in the College of Staten Island of City University of New York (CSI/CUNY) in the morning of December 13, 2006. Dr. George Wang, President of USCEA and Finance Professor of CUNY, hosted the event. Dr. Francisco Soto, Dean of CSI/CUNY, Linda Baran, President and CEO, SI Chamber of Commerce, John J. Amodio, Vice President of US Commercial Bank, Vincent Lenza, Deputy Director of the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation, and Dean Balsamini, Director of SI Small Business Development Center as well as 16 Chinese entrepreneurs participated in the seminar. The US attendees provided a detailed introduction of the superior investment and trade environment in NYC, the characteristics of US financial market and the differences between Sino-American financial markets to the Chinese attendees.

The US-China Business Building Conference was held in Manhattan in the afternoon of December 13, 2006. William Spitler, Director of US Department of Commerce New York Office, Herbert Austin, Deputy Director of US Small Business Administration New York District Office, Barney Lehrer, President of the National Association of Export Companies, Frank Carcia, Vice President of Global Business Roundtable, Myles Matthews, the President of Global Trade & Technology Center, and leaders from many other business organizations, along with about 200 executives of US companies from Greater New York Area attended this conference. During the conference, the Sino-American entrepreneurs had reached more than 20 LOIs involving USD $40 million.

During the event, the preliminary agenda for 2007 US-China Business Matchmaking Conference was also announced. The 2007 event is tentatively scheduled to take place in Shanghai, Chongqing and Beijing from June 25th to July 1st, 2007. Similar to the previous years, about 80 to 100 US company executives are expected to participate in this annual conference that is co-organized by USCEA, US National League of Cities, and Chinese local governments.
Before the summit, the Chinese Business delegation paid a visit to the NYC Economic Development Corporation and met with Laure C. Aubuchon, the Senior Vice President in charge of international affairs. During the meeting, she introduced the investment and trade environment of NYC as well as some important issues for the Chinese entrepreneurs intending to conduct investment and trade in the USA.
After the Summit, the Chinese business delegation also visited Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Los Angeles. In Washington, DC, Manuel A. Rosales, Associate Administrator of US Small Business Administration also met with the Chinese business delegation.
