2006 US-China Business Matchmaking (Hartford) Conference


Co-organized by US-China Exchange Association, MeetChinaBiz.org, Connecticut Central State University (CCSU), World Affairs Council of Connecticut (WAC-CT), Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (CT DECD) and Hartford Municipal Government, the 2006 US-China Business Matchmaking (Hartford) Conference was held in CCSU, Hartford, the capital city of Connecticut State on July 12, 2006. This is the 33rd US-China Business Matchmaking Conference held by USCEA since 2001.


A number of Chinese and American governmental officials as well as some business leaders such as Veronica Wilson, Deputy Mayor of Hartford, Laura Jaworski, Trade Specialist, CT DECD, Leslie Robertson, Chairman of the Board, WAC-CT, Felicity Harley, Executive Director, WAC-CT, Weiwen He, Former Commerce Counselor, Chinese Consulate General in New York, Edward Rybczyk, Managing Director, US China Business Center, CCSU, Shawn HeYuxun, Chairman, MeetChinaBiz.org, Winston Chou, President, MeetChinaBiz Connecticut attended this conference.


The Chinese Business Delegation, led by Ms. Annie Tang, Deputy Director of USCEA Headquarter in China, consisted of 38 Chinese governmental officials and entrepreneurs. They come from many industrial fields, such as fabrics, textiles, cables, machinery, electronics, home deco equipments, food, electric power, auto parts, non-ferrous metal, trade, bearings, Finance and real estate etc. During the conference, the Chinese entrepreneurs made further discussions with more than 50 American counterparts. Both parties had signed LOI on more than 20 potential cooperation projects, involving USD $30 million.


After the conference, the Chinese Business Delegation visited to New York, LA and other major cities in the USA. Through these business tours, they had met with made local American chambers of commerce and enterprises regarding mutual economic and trade cooperation.
