Vice Minister Wang Chao said that trade and economic relations are the ballast and positive force for China-U.S. relations. In 2012,Sino-US bilateral trade volume reached US$484.7 billion; At present, United States' accumulated direct investment in China is over US$70 billion, while China's non-financial direct investment in the United States registered nearly US$ 10 billion. The expanded common interests made China and the United States become increasingly interdependent. China's deepening reform and opening up and transformation of economic development pattern, as well as US plan of double exports and “Choose USA” have brought about new opportunities for Sino-US economic and trade cooperation. The two countries should make efforts to expand common interests, properly handle the problems and differences in the process of cooperation, and create a good environment for the further development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
