US-China Investing and Financing Matchmaking Conference 2012

US-China Investing and Financing Matchmaking Conference 2012 was held in United States from February 11-19, 2012. The workshop was co-hosted by Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME), China Association of International Trade, USA-China Chamber of Commerce, Silicon Valley Information Business Alliance, Overseas Education College of Shanghai Jiaotong University and US-China Exchange Association (USCEA).


The attending guests of honor included: Mr. Kevin Brady, the U.S. Representative for Texas's 8th congressional district; Dr. George Wang, President of US-China Exchange Association; Mr. Siva Yam, the Director of United States of America-China Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Francisco Hsieh, The Chairman of California State Friendship Committee; Mr. Frank Cao, China Secretary-General of GASME and Ms. Iris Lei, The President of Silicon Valley Information Business Alliance.


The Chinese delegation consisted of 51 members and was lead by Mr. Frank Cao, China Secretary-General of GASME and China Chief Representative of USCEA. The delegation visited San Francisco, Chicago, Washington and New York City for Sino-American New Technology Investment Matchmaking Conference (Silicon Valley), US-China Investing and Financing Matchmaking Conference (Chicago) and an orientation meeting of investment opportunities. Furthermore, the delegation had face-to-face talks with US Congressmen and paid visits to two globally renowned enterprises, Collier International and Tishman Speyer.


Sino-American New Technology Investment Matchmaking Conference was held in San Jose, California on February 11. More than 20 new technology application projects were introduced in this session of various fields including IT, bio-technology, renewable energy, energy conservation, eco friendly technologies, new material, etc. The Chinese delegation discussed future cooperation for these projects with their American counterparts.


US-China Investing and Financing Matchmaking Conference was held in Chicago on February 14. More than 10 renowned investment banks, hedge funds, venture capital firms, auditing and accounting firms, and law firms attended this conference including : J. P. Morgan Chase, Daly Group, Granite Creek Partners, Certus Bank, Hunter Wise, McGladrey, Fragomen, Katten Muchin Rosarman, Marsh, Elliott Davis, Baker & McKenzie, and Century3 Inc. The Chinese delegation discussed topics related to investment and financing with representatives of the companies listed above.


The orientation meeting of investment opportunities in the US was held in New Jersey on February 18. Globally renowned companies such as Tishman Speyer, F&T Group, and Luca International presented projects of real estate investment, exploration and production of oil and natural gas in this meeting.


On February 16, Mr. Kevin Brady, the U.S. Representative of the 8th congressional district of Texas, spoke with the Chinese delegation at the House of Representatives in Congress. He expressed his welcome to Chinese delegation and answered questions from the Chinese entrepreneurs during the meeting.


Colliers International ranked second in the annual (2010) ranking of the top twenty-five brokerages in the global real estate industry. Tishman Speyer is one of the leading owners, developers, fund managers and operators of real estate in the world. The Chinese delegation paid visits to the San Francisco office of Colliers on February 11 and to the headquarters of Tishman Speyer in Rockefeller Plaza in New York on February 17. Mr. John Chang, Vice President of Colliers International and Mr. Dale You, Senior Director of Tishman Speyer accompanied the delegation.


This workshop was a huge success and received high praise in industrial circles.
